Hi Friends I've 2 cards to share which I made today, hopefully
in time to drop them in at the challenges!
First up I've been wanting to enter the latest Timeout Challenge
where the challenge is to CASE a card by the wonderful
Tracey McNeely of In My Creative Opionion
It's a super pretty card with some subtle ink blending; here's
my take followed by Tracey's
I've 'tipped it on it's head' by using vellum but only as a strip to
mount my sentiment and I've used similar pastel shades inked
through a stencil from My Favourite Things called, Rose builder.
I love the curly font of the sentiment in Tracey's card so I've used a
(new to me) die from Simon Says Stamp with a cropped sentiment
from Uniko: Pure Florals Cosmos.
The challenge over at this week's Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge
is 'No Design Paper' so I'd like to drop my card in there too as I've
made my own design-paper-type background with the inky stencil.
Next up and you can perhaps tell I made them one after the other!
This one is for the Muse Card Challenge where my buddy and fellow
Less is More DT, Anita, is the 'Muse' for this week!
When I saw Anita's card earlier in the week I knew I'd like to use this
stencil from My Favourite Things 'Concentric Circles' and I did consider popping
it in at CASology but I think I'd get a 'red card' as it's not particularly CAS!
I started out by inking through the stencil with Versamark ink before heat embossing
with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. Instead of adding water and pigment as
Anita has ... and also I realised I hadn't picked up watercolour card! DUH!
I decided to blend Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick,
Mustard Seed and Cracked Pistachio before spritzing with a little water and perfect pearls.
The 'Thanks' die cut sentiment is from WPlus9 and I couldn't resist adding a
few sequins and some embroidery thread to mimic Anita's idea, here's her card ...
Ok that's all from me for today, thanks for stopping by and I'm off to
watch some sequins, and glamour as Strictly is back this weekend!
I'll be back tomorrow with the latest challenge details for
Less is More and Addicted to CAS so hope to see you then.
Thanks for calling in.
