I started out by die-cutting a frame using the MFT Die-Namics pierced
rectangle dies. I made a criss-cross pattern of gold embroidery thread along the
back of the frame, added some acetate, foam tape and sequins to create a shaker!
The die-cut Christmas is by Clearly Besotted and the 'happy' from Winnie & Walter.
To finish a couple of sparkly gold sticky dots from my stash.
I'd like to enter this one over at CASology this week where the cue word is
This one's all cutsie and Autumal!
This time using some green embroidery threads from my stash which
I've wrapped around a panel of cardstock to create an ombre background.
Then using the Clearly Besotted 'Let's Roll' set and some leaf dies by
MFT die-namics 'Lily' I put together a little Autumn scene.
That's all I've had chance to make for this one but please head over to
the Less is More blog HERE where you'll find the links to my teamies'
blogs and as always they've created some awesome examples for you.
I hope you'll feel inspired and play along with us this week and
thanks for stopping by today!
So gorgeous! Your threaded shaker is absolute genius and looks so rich and striking. Love the hedgehog card too with those beautiful colours and the little leaves poking out... fab! So glad your daughter is settling in well at uni. Not long until she come back with some laundry, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteImpressive card! The colour combination is fabulous too, great job :D
ReplyDeleteMy jaw literally hit the table when I saw your first card, Sarah! I love the way you have created the threaded pattern on your shaker full of gorgeous golds and coppers :) I am going to have to get that die cut sentiment too. The autumnal card is so cute and the threads in the background add the perfect touch of texture. So glad that Faye has had a great first week and that you have a full fridge :) Have a fab weekend x
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the shaker card, thank you so much for the instructions!
ReplyDeleteTwo very creative and gorgeous cards ! I love how you use the thread in both of them ! You're a genius ! Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteHey Sarah! I'm a sucker for shaker cards. I love your cards and the colors you used. Nicely done. Thank you so much for playing with us this week at CASology.
ReplyDeleteIt's a terrible feeling to walk/drive away leaving your child behind at university. I know (x2) Once in Switzerland, once in the Netherlands. So far away . A feeling I will never forget. But one already made it through, and the other one has passed the midway mark. Phew!
ReplyDeleteYour card, well, I don't have the words to describe how beautiful it is! Love the delicate gold thread. Simply stunning! Your cards always make a BIG impression!
Thanks for joining CASology Sarah!
Well! I thought your first card was absolutely brilliant when I first saw it but I had no idea you added the threads by hand! What patience you have. Also in awe of the wrapped threads on your second card. Such brilliant ideas this week. So glad your daughter is getting along fine at uni...it is a wrench when they leave but knowing she's settling in fine will help you get used to it. (Sorry I'm so late visiting this week - been manic here and I'm only just catching up!)
ReplyDeleteWow, Sarah ... your gold threaded shaker is just fabulous ... delicate and sophisticated ... and what a yummy texture-y ombre thread background for that cute little hedgie ... adorable! Hugs, Anita :)
