Less is More #328

Morning friends, are you ready for this week's challenge at Less is More - it's the one you all LOVE and DREAD in equal measures. Yep it's ONE layer week and our theme is Spots and Stripes.

We did have a half-way house challenge like this a few weeks ago featuring stripes so it SHOULD be easy enough to add the spots??? Not for me as I've had a hectic week and no mojo - in fact I think I left it in Port Sunlight! I did make a few buys in between the busy spells. Amongst my little haul and quite out of character for me, I grabbed an animal cutie set by My Favorite Things - Giraffing Me Crazy. It wasn't until I got home that I thought it might work for today's challenge so here it is ...

Two super-cute giraffes, coloured with promarkers, masked, then sat upon a diagonal striped stamp from Clearly besotted with hand-drawn lines top and bottom. The sentiment is also from the set and as is the case with MFT there's plenty of fun and appropriate sentiments in the set.

It's a 'Going Dotty' challenge over at Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge this week so I'd like to pop these 2 cute giraffes in over there as well as Addicted to Stamps and More where they're having an Anything Goes week.

This is a little sneaky BUT I couldn't resist sharing another new set (to me). This time Clearly Besotted, which has thankfully re-opened the shop. This Butterfly set went out of stock just before their temporay shutters came down and I was so upset that I couldn't get hold of it. As luck would have it ... there it was in the shop when they re-opened a few weeks ago! What's more it features ever such a delicate spot and stripe design! I've used the same Diagonal Stripe stamp again here with Altenew inks and a sentiment also by CBS: Brushed Greetings II.

Last but not least and in honour of this month's sponsor Uniko I've used the brand new Horizontal Stripe Background block with some circle stamps from various sets: Uniko Style and Balloon Bash. All stamped with Altenew inks and a bold embossed sentiment on top from My Favorite Things.

It's over to you now folks but don't forget to check out the fabulous designs from my fellow teamies over on the main blog HERE

Hope you'll play along and have some fun and thanks for calling by!

I'll be back soon!

  2. What? You say you have no mojo? These are three superb designs Sarah!!! I fell in love with those cute giraffes the moment I saw them (hmmm, you must've got up early today, eh?) and placing them on the diagonal striped surface really adds to the fun look of that card. Those are beautiful butterflies on the second - lucky you getting your mitts on those. But your third card is wonderful - so much depth from those stripes and spots and I love the added mini spots within the big ones. Fantastic. I hope you are a little less hectic this week and that you find that mojo (not that you need to!) xx

  3. I'm with Sharon, if you had no mojo, there's no way we can see it! Wonderful trio of cards, all so inspiring! I've been pinning and pinning on this LIM DT cards round and the same continues here: I LOVE your layout in the butterfly card. Am totally CASEing this design in the future if you don't mind! And those giraffes... How cute can they be?!? Not much cuter, I think this is the limit! :) Fabulous work with all of these.

  6. I don't know what you are talking about. No mojo, yet you were able to knock out three fabulous cards! I wished I can lose my mojo like that. Love the giraffes - so cute. Love the butterflies - so pretty. Love the subtle stripes and spots background behind the Bold sentiment - so impactful. Great job Sarah.

  10. Oh my <3 A trio of gorgeousness! I love the giraffes and it was only with the most enormous effort of willpower that I didn't get them... you're making me regret that now LOL. The butterflies are a great find for this, totally perfect for the challenge and very distinctive with those stylish lines. I think your background for the Mama Elephant sentiment is really clever - I wouldn't have thought to incorporate a pattern, yet it really works and looks fab! Love them all! Have a great Sunday x

  12. WOW ! This is fabulous Sarah ! If you succeed to make these stunning cards with no mojo, what will it be when your mojo is back ! These giraffes are so adorable and it's a cute way to illustrate the dots! Love these whimsical butterflies too, with their striped wings and the delicate gem on their body ! Great showcase too of the new striped background from Uniko and these sea shore inks are my favourite ! Again a lot of gorgeous inspiration for us ! Sorry for the late comment and have a great week !
