Less is More #358

Morning friends!

Oh my goodness we really are getting extremely close to Christmas and I feel so disorganised and lacking in handmade Christmas cards that I feel a shop bought pack may be required this year to bolster my stock!

It's time to announce the latest challenge from Less is More and in true festive style we've a challenge that could be 'twisted' towards that Christmas theme if, like me, you're struggling with cards.

Sadly I've only the one today as there's one more stamp release from Uniko to sneak in before Christmas so that has also kept me out of mischief and away from my Christmas card production line! I feel my hand delivered ones will be still wet with glue when I deliver them on Christmas Eve!!!

Anyway here's this week's CUE CARD and it's that dreaded ONE layer week too!

... and here's my card using a cheap and cheerful stamp I picked up from The Works (UK book / stationary / craft shop). It's a little living room scene in itself featuring a roaring toasty fire and lights on a Christmas Tree so as soon as I saw it I knew which challenge it would be heading towards!

I stamped the image in black then heat embossed with clear embossing powder over the top before colouring the images with Promarkers. There's a little wink of stella and glossy accents on those stockings and a sentiment from Uniko to finish. Oh and I hand drew the border to frame the image.

It's an Anything Goes week over at Addicted to Stamps and More so I'd like to pop this one in there, plus over at Timeout Challenges there's a photo inspiration and I couldn't resist not joining in when I saw the cute little stockings against the wood background.

These were perfect for our family's Christmas stockings since we don't have a fireplace!

As always there'll be loads of fabulous designs from my fellow teamies over on the main blog HERE and no doubt a few extras on their own blogs so do pay them a visit this week.

Our fantastic sponsor for this month is Happy Little Stampers and if you want to be in with a chance of a prize, then do play along each week, We'll announce our monthly winner at the start of next month.

Hope you'll play along and have some fun and thanks for calling by.

  1. A great little stamp Sarah and coloured beautifully!

  2. What a cute and warm scene ! This stamp is just adorable with the little stockings hanging by the fire place and near this fabulous Christmas tree ! A classy image but with a modern look ! 4. This is such a sweet little stamp and perfectly coloured x

  5. This stamp certainly was the perfect choice for the challenge! I really love these stamps that have both an image and a frame all in one -they are so good for CAS. Your coloring looks wonderful and very warm, this card has a very cozy Christmas atmosphere! Have a great week!

  6. Some reverse order catching up on your recent cards, as we were away for the weekend, enjoying time with my mom and my VERY energetic niece and nephew! A perfect stamp for this challenge, Sarah; you've breathed wonderful, warm life into it with your colouring! It's sweet, charming and even has its own little frame! Love it!

  7. Love your cozy festive OLC, Sarah! I agree this is the perfect image for our challenge. Beautiful colouring and brilliant idea to draw the border frame. It looks more complete. I thought it was part of the stamp itself. Hope you’re having a wonderful week. xx

  8. Amazing CAS Christmas card, Sarah! Beautifuly coloured!

  10. Well Sarah, the stamp may be cheap and cheerful but there is nothing cheap about your card. It has such a warm and cosy glow about it - so the cheerful feeling is there. It's a delightful scene and it will be one to use for many years to come. Brilliant colouring too. xx

  11. Sorry I'm so late, again! You've worked wonders with this great little stamp, such a cosy little scene and the hand drawn border really lifts it. Great colouring too xx

  12. Please excuse my late comment, still trying to catch up!! This couldn't be more perfect for the challenge and I'm in love with all the detail for a one layer card. Your a star and I'm so glad you joined us at TIME OUT!!
