Uniko Challenge #41 - Reminder

Hi there, I'm back with a little reminder about our current challenge over at Uniko. It's an easy one and as we're fast approaching Father's Day here in the UK it's a perfect opportunity to create a masculine card for that very occasion. It's Masculine with a twist on Father's Day and I've created 2 cards using some of the Background Builders sets by Uniko which I think always come in handy for those guys!

This one uses the Round in Circles BG Builder, with the second one using BG Builder - Triangulate. I've inked all the images with Altenew Inks and added a 'Father's Day' sentiment from the Simply Said II set. The die-cut Celebrate above is by Waffle Flower and the 'Cheers' one, below is by Lawn Fawn. Both of these are mounted on 3 pieces of cardstock to create some added dimension.

I hope you feel inspired to play along and as always there's plenty of fantastic creations by my fellow teamies, so why not head over to the Uniko blog HERE to check out the links and pay them a visit! I'm sure they'd appreciate it!

Once again we are joined by the wonderful Hannelie AKA Desert Diva, one of our previous Uniko Challenge winners and guest designing for us this month. Do pop along and visit her blog and leave a friendly word and some love.

You have until Friday, 23rd June to link up to the challenge and all the details you need about prizes and how to play can be found over at Uniko HERE

As always thanks for calling by my blog today and I hope you feel inspired and will play along with us!

Uniko Studio - Introducing Nautical Treasures

Hi Blog Buddies I'm back again with my second
introduction card for the Nautical Treasures set from

Uniko Studio

Please see my Less is More post HERE for another example

It's another Father's Day card using the sentiment which is included in the set
and I've a Dad and Father-in-law so that's both of them sorted in one day!

To begin with I used a circle mask and divided it into sections for the
beach, see and sky before inking each section.
I added the sailing boat image, masked and created the 'setting' sun, before
adding some grasses in the foreground from the Natural Treasures set.
To finish I've curved the sentiment around the circle and added some bakers twine.

I'd also like to link this card up at CASology
where the theme this week is 'Shape'
I'm hoping my masked circle hits the spot!

There's more fantastic examples from the other Design Team
members over at the Uniko Studio blog HERE so please head over there.

It's a mini release this time with just 2 sets so Release Day will be
Monday, 11th May and we'll have a blog hop then too;
the prize being the entire release for free.

We've also got a FANTASTIC 1st birthday blog hop
at AAA CAS Cards Challenge starting tomorrow so
lots of fun and prizes in store there too.

So I hope you'll join me tomorrow for this as well as my
introduction to the latest in the Flower Power set of stamps.

Less is More #223

Morning all, are you ready for another

One Layer Card week at Less is More
with a 'Water' theme this time ...
it doesn't seem 5 minutes since we were one layer splattering does it?

Anyway I've gone with 2 pretty obvious examples
using 'sea' images but there's plenty of other ways to interpret it.

My first card is a super sneaky preview of the
Nautical Treasures set which will be released and available
to purchase from Uniko Studio on Monday.

As well as the Uniko set I've teamed it with a sun ray stencil from
My Favourite Things, inked in Spiced Marmalade and Scattered Straw.

A happy little mistake occurred when I heat embossed my sailing boat
as the distress ink from the sun was still damp and picked up some of the
clear powder! You perhaps can't see it in the picture but it added a delicious
glossy shine to my sun which I rather like!
My 'ocean' is inked with Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass.

Along with the rest of the Uniko Design Team
I'll be back a little later with another card using this set
so I hope you'll join me then.

My next card uses another sneaky little stamp set purchased
from the NEC a few weeks ago

Card Recipe:
Lawn Fawn: Whale You Be Mine
Paper Smooches: Botanicals 2
Clearly Besotted: Mr & Mrs (sentiment)
The 'ocean' is inked up with the same colours as above but this time
spritzed with perfect pearls and water then heat set very quickly.

Ok it's your turn now and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you'll pop back later
to see my second card using the Nautical set from Uniko Studio.

Bye for now

PHEW JUST IN TIME!

Well I don't know where the week has gone but I'm here with a quick post and a card I created last night.

It's a commission for Father's Day and looking at how quick the weeks are flying I best get my crafty mits working on something for my own Dad and F-I-L!

If you follow my blog regularly you'll know I've been having some renovations to my Master bedroom and ensuite shower room and I'm happy to say the shower room, at least, is taking shape. All walls moved, plastered, tiled and initial plumbing in place and we've a lull now until the units can be fitted then it'll all come together (fingers-crossed) quite swiftly. I can't wait and have already 'bagged' first shower when it's done! LOL!

So here's my card and it's to enter the Sketch Saturday Challenge (#231 27th October '12and Simon Says Stamp where the theme is Father's Day / Masculine.

Card Recipe:

Image: LOTV - pre-coloured Vintage Boys Art pad (enhanced with a few glossy accents)
Papers: Studio Calico & Papermania
Sentiment: Clearly Besotted
Twine & Doodlebug Sprinkles from my stash

Ok that's all for now so catch up with you all soon and thanks for dropping in.

Hello All ... hope you are enjoying your Saturday.

I have to tell you I'm fit to burst today! Why? Well I won the Sketch Saturday Challenge from last week!!!  I keep having to pinch myself ... I mean the talent competing in the challenges is out of this world and I honestly didn't think I'd have a chance of producing anything fit to enter let alone win.  I'm very pleased and I'll be looking forward to spending some time on the Simon Says Stamp online store to spend my winnings.

So without further ado I'm off with another Sketch Saturday Challenge entry.  We all know Fathers' Day is around the corner so here's one for the Grandads too.  He'll certainly need his welly boots on today...if anyone knows when summer is arriving please can you let me know!!!

TIME FOR SOME GARDEN-TIME

Evening All

While catching up on blogging today I noticed a lovely sketch challenge over at Creative Inspirations and I set to and made a little Fathers' Day Card.  I don't know about you but I'm never sure whether to add flowers to male cards... I guess those guys who toil away the hours in the garden wouldn't mind a few flowers to show their hard work wasn't for nothing; but I used buttons instead today so hope that's ok.

Card Recipe:

Image: LOTV
Papers: Pink Petticoat and Lakeland Limited (quite old ones that I've re-discovered)
Sentiment: Digistamp Boutique
Buttons and Twine from my stash
