Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge - October 2017

Hi there, it's time for this month's challenge over at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge.

I know many of you hate the ONE layer cards - me included if I'm honest, as they never feel quite adequate enough for a card and if I've coloured it ... as is the case with this one, it bleeds through to the inside! My trick ... make the card, photograph, post on your blog and then crop it to fit on top of a card base!

Here I've used my absolute favourite HLS set 'Butterfly Birthday' stamping and masking a collection of butterflies before colouring in rainbow-ish fashion with Promarkers. I masked the area for the sentiment too then hand-drew around the box for added definition before stamping. Finally I used a few enamel dots, which if the truth be told, are hiding a couple of 'innocent' smudges! I'm such a messy worker!

Our challenge is sponsored by HLS and one lucky person will win a $20 certificate to spend in the online store HERE so why not join in - there's a whole month to do so!

You might even like to link up to some of the other Happy Little Stampers challenges and all the details are on the blog HERE and before you play along please check out our guidelines below and I hope you'll join us.

Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge - September 2017

Hi there, it's time for this month's challenge over at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge and here's what we're looking for ...

As we are fast approaching that 'Autumnal Season' I've gone with a Halloween Theme on my card.

I started with an inky blended panel of distress inks to create a night sky then added some silhouette pumkins, from Clearly Besottedm masking as I went along. The sentiments are from the same set.
I don't send too many Halloween cards but my nieces and nephews enjoy a little trick or treating so this will be heading their way soon.

Our challenge is sponsored by HLS and one lucky person will win a $20 certificate to spend in the online store HERE so why not join in - there's a whole month to do so!

Happy Little Stampers August 2017 - CAS Challenge

Hi there, it's time for this month's challenge over at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge. It's another easy one and I imagine we'll be inundated with stunning cards in the gallery this month, especially with so many beautiful floral images out there. So why not grab those flowers, create, play and inspire us.

Here's my card to get you started and I've used the popular 'Wish You Were Here' set by Happy Little stampers with a sentiment from the 'Mix Mash' set. The blooms were stamped with a little masking before colouring with my Zig Clear Brush Markers. The flower panel is die-cut using a pierced rectangle stax from My Favourite Things.

Our challenge is sponsored by HLS and one lucky person will win a $20 certificate to spend in the online store HERE so why not join in - there's a whole month to do so!

Happy Little Stampers July 2017 - CAS Challenge

Hi there, it's time for this month's challenge over at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge and it's a really easy one for this month so no excuses for not joining us! Here's the cue card followed by my 'masculine' style card.

I've used several HLS stamp sets to create this card; Big Bold Numbers, which I've heat embossed in clear having used the darkest of the 'blue' set of Altenew Inks for the Number 3, with the other images in the toning colours. The other sets are Mix Mash and Mixed Media Fun for the splatters.

Our challenge is sponsored by HLS and one lucky person will win a prize so why not join in - there's a whole month to do so!

Happy Little Stampers June 2017 - CAS Challenge

Hi there, it's time for this month's challenge over at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge and here's our cue card with the theme. It's a slightly messy one but hope you'll enjoy it.

Here's my card and if you follow my blog regularly you might notice I do like to get messy with inks and watercolours now and again. Distress inks are my go to favourite and whenever I've got some pigment left on my craft sheet I like to 'dab it up' by smooshing it onto some watercolour card. I've now a never-ending supply of smooshy backgrounds and here's one with a little bit of perfect pearls mixed with the water to add some shimmer.

Supplies used:
Dies: Simon Says Stamp: Sketched Heart & My Favourite Things: Pierced Rectangle Stax
Stamps: Happy Little Stampers - Wish You Were Here sentiment
Sparkly sprinkles from HLS and Distress inks to create my smooshed background.

Our challenge is sponsored by HLS and one lucky person will win a prize so why not join in - there's a whole month to do so!

Happy Little Stampers April 2017 - CAS Challenge

Hi there, it's time for this month's challenge over at  Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge

I started out by blending a range of Distress inks from yellow tones through to red on a piece of watercolour card. I can't resist a little flicking and spritzing of water with perfect pearls! Followed by some heat embossing of one of the blooms from 'Especially For You' the sentiment is also heat embossed and from the Fun Birthday Sentiments set. A strip of design paper and some gems to my flower centres finishes my card.

Happy Little Stampers March 2017 - CAS Challenge

Hi there, it's time for this month's challenge over at Happy Little Stampers
CAS Challenge and here's our theme for this month

I think my all-time favourite HLS set (so far) has to be Butterfly Birthday,
which I've used here, especially as I've got the matching dies too!
First of all I die-cut a scalloped rectangle using WPlus9 Sunshine Layers dies
then die-cut my butterflies out of the same panel. The butterflies were then
stamped and heat-embossed before colouring with distress inks then popped
back into the die-cut apertures but slightly raised on glue-dots to add some dimension
to the wings. Finally the sentiment is heat embossed in the same powder which is
also from Happy Little Stampers: Fun birthday Sentiments

Our challenge is sponsored by HLS and one lucky person will
win a prize so why not join in - there's a whole month to do so!

Happy Little Stampers - February 2017 CAS Challenge

Hi there, it's time for this month's challenge over at

win a prize so why not join in - there's a whole month to do so!

challenges and all the details are on the blog HERE

This one uses the newly released 'Especially For You' set along with a
birthday sentiment from 'Fun Birthday Sentiments'
Having stamped the images in Versamark ink I've heat embossed them
with Ranger Platinum embossing powder before colouring the flowers
with Zig Clear Brush pens. They are mounted on 3d foam for added dimension
and my super duper teamie and blog buddy Anita sent me a stash of
'stitched wonky rectangles' so here's the first outing - she's a treasure!
Thanks Neets!

Happy Little Stampers - January 2017 CAS Challenge

Well hello friends ... am I excited to be sharing this post with you today!

Not only is it the start of a New Year BUT ...

It's also my first outing with the Happy Little Stampers CAS Design Team
Whoopie! I've known about this for a good few weeks but today
I start proper so read on for more details on the first challenge of 2017!

Our challenge is sponsored by HLS and one lucky person will
win a prize so why not join in - there's a whole month to do so!
You might even like to link up to some of the other Happy Little Stampers
challenges and all the details are on the blog HERE

So here goes with my stencil inspired card and I've got another TWO-fer!

Both of them start with the inking of my Concentric Grid stencil from
My Favourite Things in Distress Inks: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and
Mermaid Lagoon ... then the fun starts with cracking open my HLS goodies
to accent the stencilled panels! So here's what I've used:

Everyday Sentiments, Fun Birthday Sentiments, Mix Mash
and Mixed Media Fun (don't you just love 'neat' splatters' - I'm hooked!)

To add a little more depth to my panels I've inked the edges too and beneath the
sentiment panel on the second card I've blended Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean
Distress inks before laying my stencil on top and dabbing through it with
a damp kitchen towel to lift some of the ink. Just another little trick with stencils
that I keep seeing my teamie Anita use but haven't had the nerve to try!

Ok I hope you feel inspired to play along with us and don't forget to
pop along to the main CAS Challenge blog found HERE where my
teamies have worked magic with their stamps and stencils.

Thanks as always for visiting my blog today and catch up soon!
