Sunday Challenges January 2019

Hi Friends,

Unbelievably I've found some crafty mojo today with the help of the latest challenge at Less is More and a fabulous sketch the girls have created, so here's 2 cards I've created - both baby ones as I'd run out in my 'handy to have in' box!

They use the Uniko: Sweet Baby set along with a sentiment from a Clearly Besotted baby set (sorry can't remember the name of the set) and the background stencil is by Funky Fossil; shooting stars

Here's the sketch / Cue Card for Less is More

I'd also like to enter over at AAA Cards; here's their cue card. and the 'blue' card features masking!

Thanks for calling by my blog and have a fun week!

Less is More #250

Hello there friends are we ready to get festive?
Well the season is certainly in the air at

Less is More

this morning and what's more it's that
'dreaded' One Layer Card week ... themed Santa!

I received some magnificent happy mail ... via email this week,
from Michelle at The Card Grotto - I'd won her recent giveaway!
Free entry to the latest Online Card Class: Holiday Style!
Michelle is one of the guest designers this time and I can't wait for that lesson!
Having never taken part in these classes before I'm finding it so fun and
jam-packed full of inspiration - pity I can't keep up with the daily homework!!!

Onto my card and I was inspired by May Sukyong Park of Mayholic in Crafts,
another of the guest designers at the Online Card class. Her brilliant technique
makes fantastic us of all the teeny little stamps in sets.

Santa falling down the chimney is an old wooden stamp that's been
in my stash forever and I've used various sets by Clearly Besotted,
Uniko and Paper Smooches to create the colourful explosion of gifts and images.

I'd like to link this card up to the student gallery over at

Next up using some new sets from Clearly Besotted

A wintry little scene with Santa heading through the woods into town!
The sets are Santa Baby, Birch Tree Background and Naughty or Nice!
Santa is coloured with Zig Clear Brush pens. I stamped and masked him
first before creating a snowbank with some torn post-it tape then stamped
the background and the sentiments once the mask was removed.

Just the two from me this week as I've had a busy time introducing
the new stamps at Uniko but there's plenty more to see over on the main
Less is More blog HERE - as usual my teamies have rocked it with their
fabulous creations so hope you'll stop by their blogs too.

Thanks for calling in today, have fun and happy crafting!

SOMETIMES IT PAYS TO WAIT...

Back again with another post for a few challenges and I'm glad I waited until today because it's meant that 3 challenges I was struggling with can now be combined with the Less is More Challenge and Yippee ... I love it when it all works out.

Unfortunately I think I'm using the same colours as the last 2 posts ... note to self - put these colours AWAY! Basically I was using what was on my desk to make this card hence the similar colours!

Challenges:
Less is More - THEME: 3 colours (Turquoise, Yellow & Grey)
CAS-ual Fridays - THEME: 3 of something or a Third (colours, Stripes, Sequins)
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
CAS(E) This Sketch
CAS Colours & Sketches (I've tried to match the colours as close as I could with what I have)

Materials Used:
Clearly Besotted: Hello word die (double layered and glitzed with clear embossing powder
MFT Die-Namics - Pierced Rectangle Stax
Memory Box: Wave stencil
Distress Inks
Sequins - Doodlebug

Three Colour or Three Shades of One Colour

Ok that's all for me today. I have my parents arriving any time for the night as I'm taking my dad on a watercolour painting class ... he's the painter and I'm hoping to pick up some tips! Wish me luck ... I'll need it!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and catch up with you all soon.

LOVE BIRDS ENGAGED

Hi All and Happy Monday

I've been at work today so not had much time to craft but just posting 2 cards I've made this evening.

This one is to enter the Less is More Challenge, which is a sketch this week and I've changed the shape from a circle to a bird cage so hoping that still counts. The colour combo is from this week's Dynamic Duos so I'm off over there too. My cousin and his girlfriend have just got engaged and a couple of cards from Jen and Anne at LIM inspired me. Anne with her birds and Jen with the Congrats word die from Clearly Besotted (CBS).

There seems to be a lot of 'shaker' cards on blogland and I used to make loads of these years ago so quite surprised they seem to have come back into fashion! The bird cage die is from the Love Birds set from CBS and I've layered it up 5 times to add some depth. The birds are also CBS Paired up stamp set. The sequins are from Doodlebug and the little hearts in the cage are from the die cut itself. The 'congrats' word die has been embossed with a silver opaque embossing powder to make it glisten a little bit.

A Cheeky edit to this post: Just after posting and checking through blogland I noticed, quite by chance, that there's a Sequin Shaker Card Blog Hop at Pretty Pink Posh so I'm going to slip across with my card. If you can get a shaker card made quickly there's loads of fabulous prizes.

My next card is to enter the ColourQ Challenge and I can't decide whether I love or hate this one. I saw a stamping technique here by Jennifer Maguire and Ren-yi at Uniko has also 'cased' it here. Both looked stunning so decided to have a go but not sure I've quite achieved the same effect.

The cute little flowers on the bonnet in the photo inspiration made me want to use my new Uniko stamp set (Background Builders - Vines) plus a swirly happy birthday sentiment from Clearly Besotted which has been embossed in a silver sparkle embossing powder. The backing paper is Doodlebug and I've added winks of Stella to the flowers ... even went a bit OTT and stamped the envelope.

Ok just going to link these up and off to catch up on some TV.

Thanks again for stopping by.

SUNGLASSES 2

Back again with another bright one and again it's to enter Less is More 'Make me / you Smile' and Simon Says Stamp 'Animal Antics'

The image and sentiment are digi images From the Heart Digi Stamps and the long-legged chickens just crease me up and remind me of a night out with the girls.

I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday so heading over there and it's coloured with promarkers and accessorised with a couple of enamel dots and papers from Doodlebug at Craft Mojo, glossy accents and a wink of stella.

A COUPLE OF SUNGLASSES WORTHY CARDS!

Ok so the sun comes out and almost sub-consciously I delve for the brightest colours! Why?

I've 2 mega quick posts to type up as we are heading out to the in-laws shortly and they are both to combine challenges so takes a little more thinking about.

First up is my entry for this week's Less is More challenge where the theme is 'Make me / you Smile' so this one reminds me of my little 3 year old nephew who has a thing for hats and it's usually back to front! I thought this would be right up his street and definitely makes me smile. I've also used a hap-hazard layout to add to the 'cool' image.

I'm also entering this over at Simon Says Stamp where this week's theme is 'Animal Antics' and I've used the colour palette from ColourQ so I'll be heading there too.

Materials Used:

Image & Turtle sentiment - Pink Petticoat
Birthday sentiment - Clearly Besotted: In the Frame set
Enamel Dots are Doodlebug from Craft Mojo
Promarkers

Back in a minute with one more.

HAVE I TOLD ANYONE I LOVE BUTTERFLIES...

Looking back over my recent posts anyone would think I've a thing for butterflies! I do like them but I blame Stephanie at Clearly Besotted for her adorable stamp sets ... just can't get enough of them and Elegant Butterflies has to go down as a favourite.

So here's another card using that very set AGAIN for the Less is More and Dynamic Duos Challenges this week. Jen and Chrissie have really pushed the limits this week with 'shadow stamping' ... unless I've wobbled the stamp and made a mess I've never tried this technique before and I can't decide whether I like it or not.

Anyway check it out and feedback is much appreciated:

I've stamped each butterfly 3 times without re-inking the stamp then coloured with Promarkers, using the colour combo from Dynamic Duos. Both the butterflies and sentiment are from Clearly Besotted Elegant Butterfly set and I've added some hemp cord plus glossy accents to the outline edge of the butterflies.

Ok off to check out Britain's Got Talent ... not sure how long I'll manage to sit though!!

WET SUNDAY SO 3 IN A ROW

Hi All

How come it's taken almost all day to get my crafty mitts working despite gazing at all my gorgeous stash!!! Grrr that sometimes happens then amazingly I end up with 3!!!!

So first up is another one to add to the Less is More 'Turquoise' theme and also the Simon Says Stamp 'Happy Birthday' Theme.

I've used similar products and layout to the card here but I love the butterfly on this one which is from the Clearly Besotted - Elegant Butterfly set which I've offset on a glittered star die cut using Sizzix Framelits. Also from Clearly Besotted is the Rounded Tag Die and the sentiment from Fabulous Fuchsias. Half of the white panel has been embossed with a Darice honeycomb embossing folder and I've added some Doodlebug sequins, gems and hemp cord from my stash.

The next one is to enter the ColourQ challenge and I wanted something very CAS for a masculine card although not sure the colour scheme quite works for a male card so the following one for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge may end up more appropriate

I've used blocks of cardstock from Papermania, sentiment from Clearly Besotted and some Doodlebug Sprinkles from Craft Mojo. I'm also going to head off to Pixies Crafty Snippet Playground with this one although the talent over there and fabulous use of snippets is becoming way too difficult to compete with. BUT as I've delved to the depths of my snippets box to find some little colourful bits I may as well have a go!

So here's my CAS(E) This Sketch one and I've used more Clearly Besotted products because lets face it I'm completely besotted with them! There's the Superstar set and In the Frame stamp and die set then I've added some Doodlebug sequins again from Craft Mojo.

That's all for me for today but thanks for stopping by and if you've time to comment I'd love your feedback.

See you soon.

FABULOUS FIFTY

Back again with two more quick cards then I'm back to crafting!  Lots to do ...

This first card was made yesterday for a friend's hubby who is celebrating this milestone on Friday so I couldn't believe my luck when I saw the Less is More 'Turquoise' colour challenge this morning. Not only that but it's one of my absolute favourite colours and I love wearing it, painting my house in delicate shades of it and creating with it. Happy Dayz!

I'm also entering my card over at Simon Says Stamp where they are celebrating not a 50th birthday but their 5th so the theme is Happy Birthday.

OK enough waffle; here's my card:

This Used:

Cuttlebug Embossing folder: Stars
Papers: Echo Park
Clearly Besotted: Sentiment from Home Sweet Home set, Rounded Tag Die
MFT Die-namics: High Rise number dies
Sequins: Doodlebug, Candy Dots: Stampin Up with Ribbon and cord from my stash

My next card is to enter the CASE Study #185 challenge. That's 2 weeks on the trot for this challenge ... pretty good as I usually miss it! The photo inspiration is so delicate and feminine that I just had to have a go.

I've used the Uniko Studio Flower Power 3 set with the stem and leaves from Flower Power 2, the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Fabulous Fuchsias and I've added a couple of nail heads and a sprinkling of a Wink of Stella.

Thanks for checking out my cards and hope to be back soon with some more creations.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Hi All

I'm not posting a Mother's Day card today but just thought I'd wish any mum's out there a happy day and hope you are being spoilt!

I've two cards to post today - can't seem to get my mojo in gear properly but I was a lucky lady this morning as my kids bought me the Elegant Butterfly stamps from Clearly Besotted so I've had a play with them ...

This card is to enter three challenges:

CAS Colours & Sketches - sketch week
ColourQ
Timeout Challenge #2 (new one for me)

Card Recipe:

Image: Clearly Besotted - Elegant Butterflies
Sentiment: Uniko Studio - Flower Power 2
Promarkers
From my stash: gems and papers plus a glittering with Wink of Stella

Next up is another challenge combo; this time Less is More (where this week's theme is Round and Round) and CAS(E) This Sketch. When I saw the sketch I knew I'd like to use my country landscape cutting die from Memory Box so I've switched the square for a circle frame then gone a bit over-board on circles for the 'round and round theme' LIM theme! Even went for dotty paper behind my image!

The papers are from my stash and the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Home Sweet Home set plus there's a little sprinkle of Wink of Stella on the inner white circle and windows.

Ok that's all for me I'm off for a lovely tea prepared by Mr Dazzle and the mini Dazzles.
