A SMILE FOR BABY LAUNDRY

First of all I need to thank everyone who has offered advice on photography in the 'dark' - it's much appreciated and I'm going to be trying a few 'tricks' in the hope that my posts are still worth posting through Autumn and Winter! :-)

So on to today's post and I'm hoping this will pass for the CAS(E) this sketch challenge. I love making baby cards - a bit like Christmas time with all that love and excitement. I'm helping with a local fund-raising event next month and need some 'occasion' cards for the box to sell and as it's a Digistamp image I've used I'm going to pop this in to their monthly challenge too.

I made a few of these including the girlie ones but I always prefer the 'blues'...think it must be imagining the cute, little chubby knees in the romper suit! LOL!

ANOTHER PIXIE AND COLOUR COMBO

Hey it's Sunday

I've been up and about a while but have a last minute visit from the I-L-s later so been running about the place doing the usual and itching to get in the Crafty Cupboard so just posting a very quick one this morning to enter the Colour Q Challenge and Pixies Crafty Snippet Playground.  Although it's CAS again I think I've 'played ball' with the snippets as I did have to dig and delve for scraps to make this one! LOL!

Oh I've just realised it's Anything Goes over at Papertake Weekly this week so I'm going to drop it in there too as I've missed that challenge for a few weeks.

Having uploaded this photo I must apologise for the naff photography.  It was taken in daylight yesterday but it was so dreary here that we had to use additional light. The top band of spotty pink is much darker in the 'flesh' and a much better match for the challenge than the photo implies.

Please, please if anyone has any tips on getting good quality pictures in poor light let me know. I'm sort of dreading blogging in the next few months wondering what sort of quality the pictures will be, especially when my in-house photographer (Mr Dazzle) leaves for work in the dark and gets back when it's dark! Hmmm will I have to learn to use his hi-tech camera! URGH! Yes tips would definitely be appreciated.

Catch up with you all later and enjoy your day.

BEAUTIFUL AUTUMNAL COLOURS

Happy Saturday

I've been busy playing but not posting the last few days so guess I'll be in trouble!!!

To be honest yesterday I was visiting my parents so didn't get any crafting done BUT this morning Mr Postie arrived with some goodies I'd ordered from the new release at Clearly Besotted and I'm totally BESOTTED with them!

I think Stephanie may have had a heads up on the Less is More Challenge for this week when she designed these little Autumn beauties so with new goodies in hand and some memento ink here's what I've put together...

I've added some glossy accents to the acorn tips and raised a couple on foam pads but not sure it's obvious from the picture.  In fact the light is so poor today that I'm surprised I've even got a photo worth showing!

PLUMS WITH LIME

Oooh can't believe it's Wednesday already so working week one of the new term DONE!

I was very lucky yesterday as I received a belated birthday package! AND it contained some lovely goodies from Uniko Studio so I'm hoping to have a little play with them tomorrow and if my creations are worth seeing I'll pop them on the blog.

So short and sweet today - here's my card to enter this weeks Dynamic Duos Challenge. I think Lime with Plum is my perfect combination. I've no one in mind for this card but I think it would pass for a couple of occasions so a good one to have in the box.

See you all soon
x

WATERCOLOURING...!!!

Don't know about less is more it's 'Better Late than Never' in my case! Another tricky challenge over at Less is More this week and I wasn't going to bother but a little voice in my head said ' Go on ... give it a go!'  So I have and here's my entry.

Years ago and I mean years ago I went to some local card making classes and on ONE occasion we had to use watercolour pencils to colour a stamped image and I've had a small tin of the pencils since then. You buy these things and they never see the light of day again? Anyway mine did today along with one of the very first rubber stamps I bought and I think it's either Docrafts or Anita's. There should be a couple of extra images to the side but I masked those off as I think it looks better with just the one stem.

As I've mentioned the rubber stamp already I won't do a 'card recipe' but in case you are interested the sentiment is from Uniko Studios.

I've inked up the background then stamped the image and finished off with the pencils adding water to blend and shade which is not my forte ... so here it is

A SKETCH WITH SNIPPETY BITS

Well that's day 1 at work ticked off - not that eventful but why am I more hungry on a work day? Maybe I should cash in on that and starve myself on the non-work days! On second thoughts ... perhaps not!

So on to my post; having submitted a really cheeky entry to the Pixies Snippets Playground Challenge on Sunday I'm now feeling rather guilty.  I'm loving CAS but perhaps a few more bits and pieces should be included so here's another one.

CAS again as it's also for the CAS(e) this Sketch challenge too.

I'LL GIVE YOU THROWDOWN!

Yes, I've 'throwndown' this card twice already! That's until I spotted the Color Throwdown Challenge yesterday with Lizy Bartaby's entry. I couldn't wait to have a go at those stunning pastel colours.

I've been following the Sketch over at the Uniko Studio Challenge since I returned from holiday and started playing with my new goodies but it just wasn't coming together how I wanted.  In the end I've taken colour inspiration from Color Throwdown and a fantastic idea from Lisa at I'm in Haven - she has some truly beautiful and unique cards. Instead of using my new Uniko goodies as planned I decided the smaller flowers from one of their free downloads worked better so here it is. Sorry Bev but hope to use them next time!

COLOUR Q SNIPPETS

It's Sunday :-) / :-(

Happy as it's time to play at the Pixies Snippets Playground Challenge but sad as it's back to work tomorrow. Anyway I'm being a bit sneaky today as I wanted to join the Colour Q challenge this week and while it's an 'Anything Goes' week at Simon Says Stamp I'm heading over there too.

I decided to use an idea I saw on Stephanie's site at Clearly Besotted using my new Postage Stamp die. I cut the four stamps out in the required colours - and heck I've thrown pieces bigger than this in the bin previously - sinful! I then masked each one while I stamped a section of the flower image (also from Clearly Besotted) in coordinating ink on each postage stamp. Three of the postage stamps are raised on foam with one sitting straight on the card.

I'm off for some more crafting as I'm loving experimenting with my new goodies so catch up with you all later.
