NEW STUFF WITH ONE LAYER

Feel like I've got to whisper here as this is a really late post.

I've had a bit of strange week; firstly very sad news at the beginning with one of my uncles dying completely unexpectedly and suddenly so all in shock right now. I made a sympathy card but it was the hardest card I've ever made and then writing it was even worse. Later in the week I've just been crazy crazy busy with work and as usual the craft time doesn't happen.

Anyway one of my favourite stamp companies, Clearly Besotted released some amazing new products this week and fortunately I got in quick to order a couple of items before they ran out so when I saw the one layer challenge over at Less is More I jumped for joy. Hmmm now I can play with my new set which is called Dandelion Dreams.

This card is also to share over at ColourQ as I've used their colour palate too. I stamped the dandelion heads with various shades of pinks and reds then heat embossed the centres with a mixture of red and pink embossing powder. A lovely birthday sentiment, also from Clearly Besotted and a couple of enamel dots and that's me!

So off to bed now and hope to have a couple more shares for you tomorrow.

IT'S A TRIPLE POST

Dashing in with a quick post with 3 more cards to show - Oh I have been a busy bee this weekend! Not sure when I'll next get around to posting though!

First up is to enter the CASE Study challenge which I don't always get chance to play along with but the inspiration photo was so beautiful that I couldn't resist. I've not altered it much at all but I was thrilled to use a brand new die which arrived in the post just in time! It's the Tilda Swirl die from Memory Box which I've cut out twice and rotated the top one so it looks like petals all around. I die-cut a circle from gold glitter card and sprinkled pink beads on to tie the colours together. I've rotated the card and placed a piece of embossed vellum behind the flower which has been embossed with a Birthday sentiment from ... you guessed - Clearly Besotted! A couple of sequins and gems for added sparkle and a strip of washi tape at the right of the card and that's it.

I'm also going to enter this into the CASual Fridays challenge as I've placed the flower so it is just hanging over the edge of the card.

Next up is to join in the celebrations over at Less is More where they are celebrating their 3rd Birthday!!! Well done ladies - I don't know any blog buddies who don't enter these weekly challenges regularly and since I started blogging I've tried to enter every week (give or take a few when I've been stumpt!) Here's to the next 3 years - I honestly don't know how you come up with so many ideas to challenge us but it's fantastic and certainly gets me focussed on a Saturday morning!

The theme this week is 'Rainbow' and this has to go down as one of the quickest cards I've ever made. I've scored some lines across the card for added detail, used a sentiment from the wonderful Clearly Besotted then a selection of coloured gems from my stash.

And last but by no means least is my entry to CAS Colours and Sketches where this week it's a duo challenge to use the sketch and colour scheme.

Once again it's the Clearly Besotted products I've reached for as these sets are new to me and I love the birds right now - you may have noticed on some of my other cards!

I've used the Love Birds and Paired Up sets plus a sentiment from the 'It's you Birthday' stamp set plus a couple of pink pearls from my stash.

Ok that's definitely it for me for today - my fingers need a break from typing! Perhaps I'll go and do some cutting and sticking instead!!!

Catch you all soon.

PURPLE PATCH

Back again - I was hoping to get both of those cards on one post but realised I can't attach two photos to the same challenge from one post! Does anyone know a way round that?

No worries though ... here's my next card which is one I've been meaning to put together all week but for one reason or another it didn't happen. Also last week I'd hoped to enter the Retro Sketches Challenge as the sketch was superb but missed it so I've still used the sketch for my card but it's to enter the CAS-ology challenge where the codeword is 'Purple' and as it's got a wrap-around of purple metallic cord I'm going to try my luck at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge again.

Card Recipe:

Image: Using my favourite Clearly Besotted set - Butterfly Additions die. You can't see from the photo but I have cut out 1/2 a butterfly from the white panel too.
Papers: From my stash
Sentiment: Uniko Studio - Flower Power
Other items: Cuttlebug retro circles embossing folder, MFT Die-namics Sentiment strip, Clearly Besotted 'With a Flourish' stamp set, pearls and metallic cord from my stash.

Ok may be back later with a couple more to show.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by.

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Sorry I've been missing again for a few days - just can't seem to find the time for crafting :-(

Anyway I did have a little play yesterday so I've a couple of cards to show you for some challenges which I hope to join on time!

First up is my entry to the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge but I'm also combining it with the colour palate from Color Throwdown and also Addicted to CAS where the theme is 'LOVE'.

I've used my Love Hearts stamp and die set from Clealy Besotted plus a sentiment from CBS too. The 'Love' Script is from Memory Box with papers, washi tape, twine, button and nail heads from my stash.

Oh and a big thank you to Darnell who mentioned, in her blog post, another challenge at Simon Says Stamp where it's Anything Goes with String or Twine so I think my card can fall into that category! Yippee - I'm off there too!

Back in a mo with a couple more....

SNEAKING BY

Hello all

Back at work today so a mega quick post just to show you the card I made for my little Sis who celebrates her birthday next week. Fingers-tightly-crossed life is so hectic for her that she won't have time to check out my blog before her birthday!

It's to enter the Seize the Sketch challenge but I've tipped it upside down so hope it still counts!

Card Recipe:

Image: Pre-coloured LOTV image
Papers: Pebbles - Basics
Sentiments: Clearly Besotted - In the Frame stamp & die set
Tools: MFT Die-Namics banner, Stampin Up candy dots

SHOWERED WITH FLOWERS

Back again with 2 flowery cards and why did I never use this little stamp before???

My first card is a joint challenge entry to Dynamic Duos and this month's Uniko Challenge where there's a sketch to follow:

This is the second card I made today with this stamp set but I just love the colour scheme so showing this one first. I'm lucky to have all 3 Flower Power and Background stamp sets from Uniko Studio but I've never used this mini trio stamp and I think it's worked just perfect as a shower of flowers.

I've used the Flower Power 2 set for the image at the base of the card and teamed it up with a birthday sentiment from Clearly Besotted.  The papers are from the Papermill Direct and I've added some glossy accents, little black dots to the small flowers and a black gem from my stash to the large flower.

Ok so I did make this card first and it's to enter the challenge over at CAS - colours and sketches where there's a sketch to follow.  I pulled out my new Flower Power stamp sets from Uniko and set to work using the background set for the left panel and set number 1 for the base.  I've added a Happy Birthday sentiment from Clearly Besotted, some twine, silver pearls, and nail heads from my stash.

The top blue panel is from the Papermill Direct but it's been in my stash for years and I only had a little snippet of it but I quite like the effect against the stamped panels.

Ok that's all for me today. Looking forward to catching up on your blogs after tea.

PRODUCTIVE CRAFTY DAY FOR A CHANGE!

Happy Tuesday all

Wow can't believe how crafty, busy I've been today - AND I've even had the opportunity to crack open some of my new stash that Santa brought me so lovvvvving it!

So I've a couple of cards to enter challenges so here goes and first up is a card to share at Pixies Snippet Playground plus the new challenge over at Card Concept where the theme is 'Use Texture' and I'd say I've used another freestyle collage style

I've used texture on the background using a lattice embossing folder from Darice and a woodgrain effect behind the owl plus lots of snippety bits to make the branch (using Clearly Besotted - Paired Up dies), leaves (Marianne Creatables dies) and birthday banners (MFT die-namics sentiment strips).

Card Recipe:

Image: Cross-eyed owl - is either from my Crafty American Auntie or a blop-hop I won recently
Papers: Papermill Direct
Sentiment: Clearly Besotted - Geometric Style 1

Ok back in a minute with another make...

WHERE ARE THESE WEEKS GOING ....

I've had another crazy week of working, working and more working and unfortunately it's my crafty time that suffers so I've had a good old play this afternoon. Oh and I woke up to a wonderful surprise this morning ... I'd won last week's Sketch Saturday challenge!!!! Arrrrgh ... so thrilled as I wasn't sure about the card I'd made but you can check it out here

The weather has been absolutely naff today so what better place to hang out than in my crafty cupboard. (It is actually a cupboard and one of these days I'll pop some photos on here to show you - it's my Tardis!)

So my first card is to enter this week's Less is More challenge where it's a sketch one and I've combined it with the colour scheme challenge at ColourQ and the 'Lovely Dovey' theme over at CAS on Sunday. You are going to think I'm obsessed with the Eiffel Tower at the moment but I bought this die a couple of weeks ago to make a commission card and I just love it.

Card Recipe:

Cutting Tools: MFT Die-namics - Eiffel Tower, Memory box - Heart on a bow & Clouds
Papers: From my stash
Sentiment: Clearly Besotted - Paired Up stamp set
Sizzix dotty embossing folder & some gems from my stash.

Next up is another combined entry to Muse, which I've got to admit I've never entered before so hope I've got it right, and Color Throwdown. I loved the design of the Muse card so I've used that as inspiration but I decided on butterflies rather than hearts and although I've used the grey background I've matched the other colours to the colour palate at Color Throwdown

This used Papers from my stash, Butterfly die set from Clearly Besotted and sentiment from the Geometric style stamp set which is also Clearly Besotted plus gems, twine and fluted border from my stash.

Ok that's it for now but I'm still playing so may be back later or tomorrow.  Enjoy your evening and thanks for stopping by.
