Less is More #241

Morning all, it's that time again ... 8am Saturday (BST)!
I'm here with the latest challenge details for

Less is More

Being the 2nd week of the month it's for some of you
THE dreaded challenge! Yep! The One Layer Card

If I'm honest I'm not so keen on them either - they always seem so flimsy!
Most of the time I end up re-hashing them as they just don't seem sturdy enough!
Shhhhhh! Don't tell Chrissie!!!! HeeHee!

So the theme for this week is Wishing
which means lots of different occasions can be used
to make this work ... BUT ... that's the easy bit!

Being a crazy self-confessed Clearly Besotted addict I was sooooo
tempted to purchase the latest coffee / tea cups from the September release!
Knowing full well I already owned this Warm Wishes set - I behaved!

I was inspired by Yoonsun's card HERE so much that I decided to try out a
rustic-type scene with mugs and obviously 'Warm Wishes'.
The sentiment is from the In The Frame set by CBS and it's heat embossed
in WOW Pale Gold Metallic EP along with the hand-drawn line in versamark!
I heat embossed the cups in white EP before water colouring using distress inks
and to finish - added dots to the cups using a gel pen for more detail!

I'd like to enter this one over at Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday (Use a Stamp)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

My next card uses a few sets from Uniko: Background Builders - Circles
and Big & Bold - Wish, which are inked using Colour Box Chalk inks

Ok that's all from me but there's plenty more inspiration for you over on
the main Less is More blog HERE and I'll be back in an hour with
the latest challenge from Addicted to CAS so hope you'll pop along then.

Thanks so much and have a great week.
Sarah

  1. So well behaved not to buy that new set. I don't have the warm wishes set so I may just have to add the new one to my wishlist...I blame you! :D I love how you've coloured it, the sepia tone background with the gold strip looks great with the other colours. And your second card is so fab to have as a unisex card, although you don't seem to have a problem creative masculine cards anyway. Fab cards, teamie xx

  4. The coffee card works really well with the colours, the white cups and distress inks and the 'warm' diagonal sentiment. Lovely one layer card...maybe this one will stay as the one layer ?x Bold, bright and modern colours and layout work well on the second card.

  6. Fab cards as ever Sarah, funny thing... I have been known to re-jig a one layer card as it were too...although sometimes it is handy to have something thin to go through the post if you want to include a letter or a wad of cash!!!!
