Hey it's time for another day out with the honeys and this time
This is the kit of goodies that Sandie posted off around the world for us
Bus and taxi dies from Docrafts X-cut ‘Build a
scene'
Eiffel tower and various sentiments from Papertrey Ink 'city scene'
Skyline, photo frame and postage stamp plus various
sentiments from Freshly Squeezed Stamps
Globe stamp and various sentiment from Avery Elle
'love note' stamp set
DSP metro and tube line-Finnish Craft shop
Globe die-Tim Holtz
And here's my cards ....
I couldn't wait to use this globe die-cut and with a mix of fun and romantic-ish
sentiments I made an anniversary card for my hubby. I started out blending various
blue distress inks on some watercolour card in a circle to match the shape of the die.
A 'compulsory' flick and spritz of water before popping the globe and sentiments
on top. I die-cut some hearts from the strip of gold glitter tape and added a
on top. I die-cut some hearts from the strip of gold glitter tape and added a
'Happy Anniversary' sentiment from Avery Elle: Sentimental
another flick and spritz of water to make what looks like snow (should
have been stars!) You never can tell how these things will pan out!
I fuzzy cut the skyline stamp, mounted it on 3d foam, added a strip
of silver glitter card from my own stash and a couple of gems.
I love the little black cab against the sparkly card.
Yikes ... I've gone all vintage and non-CAS for this one!
These striking images and sentiments just had to be used on a card
and I decided it would make quite a good 'Bon Voyage' type card.
My daughter and boyfriend are Inter-railing in Europe in a few weeks time
so I may well give this card to them - not that they'll be travelling 1st class!
I inked up all the images with Antique Linen Distress ink and added a couple
of additions from my own stash: the '1st' and 'Follow Your Dream' sentiments
are from Clearly Besotted. Then using a tad more of that gorgeous glitter
tape I die-cut some teeny hearts and arrows from Paper Smooches.
I couldn't wait to use the red double decker bus from the kit but my
mind went completely blank until a few days before this post!
Finally I decided to make an 'underground' look with some
die-cut chevrons from MFT Die-Namics with the London map behind.
I trimmed the individual 'London' words and inked up with distress inks
in Red (White) and Blue of course then added the bus on foam - driving
along 'over ground'! I did wonder about taking the top off it like the sightseeing
city tour buses but decided it might ruin the die and I couldn't have that.
To finish a sentiment from Lawn Fawn: Life is good and some little hearts,
both heat embossed in Hero Arts white EP.
I hope you like how I've played with the kit and I'm off to hop
around the other honeys to see how they crafted with it.
Thanks as always for calling by and I'll be back in an hour
with the latest challenge details for Less is More.
All the 3 cards are fabulous
ReplyDeleteOh, these have all come up a complete treat! I absolutely love the vintage compilation you have going on for card #3! I would never, never, never in a month of Sundays come up with that, and boy, does it look amazing or what! 1st class travelling, hey?? How the other half live!! ;-) Blue chevron looks so cool with that fun bus. Your stars DO look like stars, not snowflakes - awesome silhouetting, and your hubby will be loving that first card! There are globes and there are globes, and you know things are serious when the Tim Holtz globe gets used as a reference! Awesome on many levels! Love it all!
ReplyDeleteThese are superb Sarah and we both went a bit out of our comfort zone! I adore the purple skyline and how you grounded the bus the taxi with the glitter. And love the vintage look of card 2, such a clever combo of these elements, great way to use the heart DSP. And well you are so clever to use the tube paper behind the chevrons, I love this one, all purple and London...a card after my own heart xx
ReplyDeleteLoving these cards, Sarah! There are so many clever touches....I literally gasped when I saw how you used the underground paper behind the chevrons and I love how you used the globe for your anniversary card. The purple skyline and fab collage of elements are put together beautifully too. It looks like you had a lot of fun with this kit x
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteYour cards are really beautiful --- but the blue one ;)) both thumbs up!!Greetings from Germany Elisabeth
Fab cards, I definitely saw stars rather than snow! Cara x
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness you have totally rocked the kit Sarah!!! I've just realised that we did the same design with the skyline stamp, thats so funny! Love the blue behind the globe, such a genius idea and the blue panels on the last London card look so incredible. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to post on Saturday and feel awful I couldn't give the kit my full attention. You've certainly done Sandie proud and I can't wait to see what the next kit looks like.....
