This time I've used Distress inks to create the ombre effect using
Broken China, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch.
The card base had a heavy spritz of perfect pearls and water and I've
die-cut the 'smile' from Lil'inker Designs from an off-cut of the card base
before adding dimension with several layers of die-cut cardstock.
The stamped sentiments are from Avery Elle 'Sentimental' and I've
added a few coordinating sequins just for the 'bling' of it!
Although I've not gone with the 'Stencil' optional twist I would like
to link up at the Happy Little Stampers - Watercolour challenge
Last one and again using the zig clear brush pens to create an ombre
panel before dry-embossing the panel with the 2nd embossing folder from
the We R Memory Keepers set mentioned above. The 'celebrate' word die
is by Sugar Pea Designs and is die-cut on some glitter tape from Heidi Swapp
plus several layers of white card stock to add dimension. The '70' numbers are
die-cut from the 'count on us' set by Avery elle from the same glitter tape
and adhered flat to the card base. A couple of sequins and stars finishes the design.
I'd like to link this card up at Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge
where it's 'Something New' and both my embossing folder and celebrate die
were goodies from Santa under my Christmas tree!
They are adorable card and love the colors

ReplyDeleteSeriously beautiful cards, Sarah. I am waiting for my Zig brush pens to arrive and I have been really keen to see how they fare using them like you have. They look amazing. No brush marks or anything!!! Thanks for having me as Guest Designer at LIM and thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers xx
ReplyDeleteFab set of cards. I love the first one with a bit of a 60s vibe, just realised I was going to flick some water on my second card and forgot!

ReplyDeleteI'm gobsmacked again Sarah! There are so many inspirational colours and uses of ombre in your cards that I'm like a kiddie in a sweetie shop scrolling up and down to see them all! Fab use of dry embossing (WRMK folders are fantastic, aren't they?) and spritzing too. Can't pick a favourite as they are all stunning. xx
ReplyDeleteWoahh! These are amazeballs! Such vibrancy of colour on all of these. The silhouette with the sunny background looks so crisp and bold. Now I NEED a decent amount of Zigs, these ombre effects are fantastic! xx
ReplyDeleteAll lovely cards. So much inspiration. Beautiful ink blending.
ReplyDeleteLoving the first one...has a great retro look about it, reminds me of some stationary I had in the early 70's...brilliant
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards created with the ombre technique Sarah!!! LOVE the first one with the HLS silhouette! fantastic! Love that wonderful white panel on the gorgeous inky blue background on "Smile", and the "celebrate card is a wonderful design and burst of color along with the sparkly gold... Three beauties!
ReplyDeleteYour colours are so bright. I've never used my Zigs to colour a background so you've totally inspired me!! All of your ombre designs are perfect, I'm especially loving your water colour 'smile' card as I like the panel of white in the middle for the black, crisp sentiments. So amazing and I'm so glad you shared it with us at TIME OUT too!!!
ReplyDeleteGood grief, just realised I said 'TIME OUT' in my last comment, mean't to say Happy Little Stampers. Trying to catch up on my commenting, my brain is ahead of my fingers it would seem!!
