Less is More #330

Morning friends, are you ready for this week's challenge at Less is More? It's our recipe week and here's the cue card.

Here's what I've created to inspire you and it's another of those 2-fers! I just love getting extra cards out of the same items - don't you?

To begin with I blended distress inks onto a piece of card stock then brushed Perfect Pearls generously over the top to create my shimmer effect. I die-cut the panel with a circle die then ran it back through the Big Shot inside a We R Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folder. I didn't really need the complete circle for my backdrop on this first card so I sliced it in two to make my 2-fer!
This first one uses a city landscape die by Clearly Besotted along with a sentiment from their 'Time to Celebrate' set

This time the other half of the circle is upside down and I've used a 'friend' die from Paper Smooches and a 'you are awesome' sentiment from Altenew with a couple of added sequins for extra shimmer.

Don't forget to check out the fabulous designs from my fellow teamies over on the main blog HERE

I hope you'll play along and have some fun!

Thanks for calling by and I'll be back soon!

  1. Another fabulous two-fer. Such a simple idea but so effective. I originally thought you'd embossed pearlescent cardstock but this is a great idea to use inks and perfect pearls, I really must experiment with those little pots! xx

  3. Wow! Your embossed and shimmered panel captures such a luscious, luminous sheen Sarah! Love how you used it in halves for the 2-fer. The first card with the NY skyline looks like it is the dawning of a bright and crisp day. Such fab clean lines on that card. I adore the font on the 'friend' card and the little sequins are a perfect finishing touch xx

  4. Like Anita, I thought you had used pearlescent card - such a clever idea to create your own! The embossed rays really let the skyline pop and I love the way you have used the other half of the circle too. Fab designs and great inspiration. I hope you enjoy the long weekend xx

  6. I love these, Sarah! What an awesome effect with the shimmer and embossing! So clever to create your own background with PP, and the black city silhouette and large black sentiment go perfectly against them - a really dramatic effect. FABULOUS! Enjoy tjhe long weekend! x

  7. Wow, your self-made pearlescent card looks amazing! I have some perfect pearls myself and definitely want to give this technique a try, thanks for inspiration! I really love the "compact" layouts of both of these cards, it's so pleasing for the eye when a card has only one focal point.

Please feel free to remove it; I will try, and I will remove from my challenge list this time! Hope to join in another time! Thanks for the comment and the inspiration!
