Less is More #352

Morning friends!

I'm leaving this post in the 'trusty' hands of Mr Blogger as I'm away for a couple of days so hopefully his scheduling skills are working to the max today as I'd like to introduce our latest challenge from Less is More

It's the turn of our RECIPE challenge and here's the cue card

I've gone with a really simple and straight forward technique using purpose made layering clear stamps which are so popular on the market these days for adding extra detail with the hard work taken out of it by the stamp designers and manufacturers.

I've 2 cards for you and first up using one of my favourite sets from Altenew along with their inks too which work beautifully with all the different tones in the sets.

In fact it ended up being a two-fer as I used different tones of the same colour families to ink up
my butterflies...deep and subtle. I think I prefer the deep version but personal taste I suppose. The sentiment is from a couple of Uniko sets ... Festive Sentiments (Happy) and Simply Said (Birthday)

Next up a little Christmas variety using some other stamps from our super sponsor Uniko, these are Winter Foliage, Jingle Bells and Festive Sentiments. The pine-cone and poinsettia are both layered stamps and again I've used Altenew inks for stamping.

It's an Anything Goes week at Simon Says Stamp so I'd like to head across there with this one.

As always there's loads of fabulous designs from my fellow teamies over on the main blog HERE and our sponsor for this month is Uniko so do play along for a chance of a prize, which we announce at the start of next month.

Hope you'll play along and have some fun and thanks for calling by today.

  1. Two wonderful cards, Sarah! Mr. Blogger seems to have been behaving all well and your post is up as it should be! :) I really love that Altenew butterfly set, I don't have it but it's on my wishlist -the soft, artsy looks one can create with this set are absolutely beautiful. Your second card is equally pretty and what I love in both of your cards is the way you've used these stamped panels -wonderful CAS layouts and very inspiring! I especially love the fun curvy edge on your second card. Enjoy your weekend! xxx

  2. I'm with Nonni. The stamped panels in your two designs look fabulous, I really struggle thinking of different layouts but you just keen 'em coming. The more I see you using that butterfly set the more I want it. It's so pretty, especially in those colours. And after sorting through all my Uniko sets last weekend I very nearly used two of the same sets, great minds, eh! Hope you've had a lovely few days away xx

That's true that Altenew inks are fabulous to layer stamps. And this Xmas card is also so beautiful, love your winter foliage arrangement and definitely those bold sentiments from Uniko ! 4. What knock-out cards Sarah! Stunning butterflies - I love these stamps more every time I see them and your pastel shades are truly beautiful (that's one of my fave colour combos!) The Christmas card is beautifully festive and the curve on the panel is fab. They may be purpose made layering stamps but it takes a master to wield them so elegantly. Gorgeous creations. xx

  5. A duo, or should I say a trio, of beautiful cards, Sarah. Love the colours of your butterflies cards in both tones. Love Altenew inks and that set is on my wish list. 😉 Your second card is so pretty and festive in somewhat traditional colours. Great design. Have a wonderful week. xx
