Less is More - Challenge #389

Hey there friends

As you are no doubt aware the
Less is More challenge is celebrating this month with it's ...

... and I'm delighted to be here as Guest Designer for the second challenge of the month, despite it being my least favourite style - ONE Layer cards!!!! Yep THAT one! Anyway it's a fairly easy theme so I'm happy to play along with my superb friends at Less is More and here's the Cue Card

This challenge is sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays and I have to admit I only own Christmas stamps from this company so decided to use this festive sentiment with a rainbow effect! Who says we can't have a Christmas rainbow!!!

That's all from me but I'm in no doubt that there'll be plenty more inspiration from the regular Design Team so why not head over to the blog HERE to check them out too.

Huge thanks to my fellow ex-teamies from Less is More for inviting me to join the celebrations this month and here's to the next 8 years!!!! BIG HUGS!

Less is More #384

Hello my crafty friends,

Firstly apologies for my absence at Less is More but sadly life has become extremely busy in the last 6 months and due to lack of time and mojo I've been struggling to take part in DT work and challenges of any sort, hence my recent break from the Design Team.

Unfortunately, despite the break I've still found it difficult to get back into crafting and I have made the tough decision to step down from the Less is More Design Team following this month's challenges.

I'm thrilled that fellow teamie Sharon has agreed to take on the task of running the challenge and I will be forever grateful to her and the rest of the team, of course, for continuing with Less is More. I'd also like to thank everyone who has supported and entered the challenge. I have enjoyed every week of the 4 years on the team and made lots of wonderful crafty friends in that time.

So let's get down to the serious business of announcing this week's challenge which is a COLOUR one and here's the cue card to get you started

I've 2 cards to share with you and for this one I used a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers from a retired Christmas sentiments set and I found this die-cut nativity scene in my stash, conveniently die-cut using silver mirror card which I decided would work perfectly for this colour challenge.

Secondly, a string of silver snowflakes using a die from the Works with a 'Merry Christmas' sentiment die from CAS-ual Fridays against an ink blended background.

All the details are on the main challenge blog HERE along with links to my fellow teamies and their fantastic designs to inspire you and as mentioned above, our sponsor for this month is Happy Little Stampers.

I hope you'll feel inspired to play along with and have some crafty fun along the way.

Thanks for calling by today and catch up soon.

Less is More #254

Happy Saturday friends!

Are you well? Ready for a Less is More challenge?
... and
are you ready for Christmas?

Well I might be ahead of you on this challenge but I'm certainly
panicking at the unhealthy speed of Christmas of approaching!

Anyway onto our challenge and unlucky for some maybe it's the turn of
the ONE LAYER CARD week!
and the theme is 'What's in My Stocking'

For me ... I've not got a clue what will be in my stocking so I've
made a couple of cards showing items I'd quite happily like to find!!!
First up neatly wrapped surprise pressies!

I was inspired by Therese Calvird's cards and video this week HERE so I
decided to have a go at heat-embossing some simple images in white EP onto
coloured cardstock. The images are from Clearly Besotted: It's Your Birthday
and sentiment from Rockin' Robin (also CBS). To finish a few mini gems

Next up is also to enter at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge as I
adore their photo inspiration below and I'm quite partial to a few
sweeties in my Christmas stocking - shhhh don't tell the dentist!

The images are from Clearly Besotted: Naughty or Nice, coated in
glossy accents and left to dry overnight before inking with distress ink
in Blueprint Sketch. The curve detail is created using the MFT Die-namics stitched
border dies to emboss the card base. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays

Last but not least I do love having flowers around at Christmas but whether
they'll be peeping out of my stocking on Christmas morning remains to be seen!

The flower stamps are from Altenew Vintage Flowers and I'm still trying
to get to grips with stamping these intricate flowers. They are beautiful but
quite tricky and time-consuming to line up accurately. Once stamped I masked
the blooms then used some Evergreen Bough Distress Ink to create a wintry
background. The sentiment is from Uniko: All Occasion Sentiments #6

Ok hope you enjoy the challenge and have some fun!
Check out those wish lists and see if you can re-create on card!

If you need more inspiration then please head over to the Less is More
blog HERE where my teamies have worked their little socks (stockings) off!

As always thanks for stopping by and catch up with you soon.

Less is More #248

Morning friends ... have you got that Saturday morning feeling?
It's time for a new challenge over at Less is More and this
week we'd like to see you have a go at Paper Piecing;
keeping it clean and simple too.

I'm in Christmas mode again so here's my examples and there's more
goodies from my fellow teamies HERE on the main blog! PLUS ...
as it's a 5-week month we have a guest designer this week -
Val, from Canonbury Creations so hope you'll pop along to her blog
and leave some friendly love and feedback!

My puppy image, accessories and sentiment are from
Mama Elephant: Playful Pups with the trees from Winnie & Walter:
It's a Wonderful Pennant. These are stamped on DP from Doodlebug
and Pink Petticoat before fuzzy cutting and adhering to the stamped images.
The background sky is embossed using a Sheena Douglass EF: Snowfall,
although it's not too obvious in the photograph and I've used a Mama Elephant:
Landscape Trio die to create a bank of snow.

It's Anything Goes over at Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge
so I'd like to drop my card in there too.

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

Next up I've used last week's sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch,
unfortunately time ran out last week before I could enter!

I started out by heat embossing, using WOW Metallic Silver Sparkle,
a gorgeous Christmas sentiment set from Casual Fridays: Lovely Blessings.
The panel is then die-cut using MFT Pierced rectangles. Using an American Krafts
Christmas paper pack I've stamped a stitched heart from Clearly Besotted:
Love Hearts set and onto the card panel. Although I have the matching dies
I fuzzy cut the heart to fit exactly inside the stamped image, coated it in
Wink of Stella and glossy accents before mounting the white panel on
Papermania textured cardstock.

The cue card at CASology this week is 'Heart' so couldn't
resist popping this one in over there too, especially as my fellow
LIM teamie, Anita is their GDT this week also.

Ok that's all from me so hope you enjoy the challenge and I'm looking forward
to some super inspiration from you crafty geniuses as paper piecing isn't my forte.
Have a fun week and thanks for calling by.

How Can You Forget Christmas ....

... well I almost forgot!
This card was supposed to go in my last post but
I've obviously got too much spinning around my head and forgot!

So here it is and I'm using some brand new goodies I received following my super
lucky win at Darnell's NBUS challenge recently. What a gorgeous bundle
I received from Casual Fridays! and I'm sure I'll be going to these stamps
a lot with the festive season rapidly approaching!

They are having a Clean and Simple Christmas over at
so that's where I'm heading with this card. I simply stamped the
stunning snowflake image and sentiment in Versamark ink then
heat embossed using WOW metallic silver sparkle EP. Cropped the
panel a little and to finish a little silver gem from my stash.

Ok I really don't think there's any more cards hiding on my desk
ready for blogging ... well not until tomorrow so hope to
catch up with you then!!!

Happy Crafting

Sarah
