Less is More #246

Morning friends, it's time for a new challenge over at  Less is More  and it's Theme Week! Our theme is Masculine!
I can hear you groan ... me too! These are always tough to do as I automatically go for  my florals, girlie and butterfly sets which don't sit too well with the guys! But it's good to get out of our comfort zones now and again plus boost those masculine makes in the card box so hope you'll play along.

Here's my cards and first out I couldn't resist inking up this  fairly recent set, for the first time, from Clearly Besotted - Out of This World.

Using Distress inks in Ripe Persimmon & Wild Honey 

I inked a sun / planet. Then with Blueprint Sketch, Faded Jeans and Black Soot. 

I've added a few stars with a white gel pen, coloured the images with Stabilo markers

and mounted them on 3d foam, accented with wink of stella and glossy accents.

I'd like to head over to Inkspirational Challenges with this one and hope 

the glow from my spaceship and sun will pass the requirements!

It's always hard to make sympathy cards but particularly for a guy

so I thought I'd use this new set I picked up from my recent visit

to the Harrogate Showground Craft Fair. It's from Inkylicious and

I've used Dusty concord, Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass and Black Soot

to create what I hope looks like a watery / misty background before

stamping the images and adding a few highlights here and there with

my white gel pen.

It's a colour theme over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge

this week along the Halloween tones but I'm hoping my 

eerie Halloween purple tones will work ok there!

It's a new look cue card at CASology too this week and 

cue word 'You' so I'm dropping in there too with my

Thinking of YOU card!

 ... and last be not least it's silly season!

Well that was last week's theme at CASology and these

silly Face-it stamps from The Alley Way Stamps were still

on my desk so I decided to use them. Laura Bassen did a fabulous

video this week of a shaker card using mason jars and that gave me

the inspiration to go with the jars - they are from the Clearly Besotted

Spring blooms set and I've coloured them with Distress Inks. To accentuate

those silly eyes I've added glossy accents and the sentiments are from

Uniko: All Occasion Sentiments #6 and Simply Said - Birthday

I'd like to link this one up at ColourQ - quite ashamed as I used 

to play along almost every week and haven't joined in for ages.

Silly Side

Morning friends I've a little post to share today with a card for the latest CASology & CAS(E) This Sketch Challenges.

I couldn't resist the cue word: Silly over at CASology  this week especially with my go-to silly stamp set! AKA: The Alley Way Stamps - Face It! I thought it looked quite fun teamed with the sketch too and one of the new sentiments from Uniko: All Occasions #6





EDIT: thanks Sandie, for suggesting I should play along at  Timeout Challenges with this card using the 'smile' sentiment. They are playing on the following words at Timeout so although I haven't gone with the Autumn ... the card features a smile!
 'Autumn...the year's last, loveliest smile'

Silly Faces

Evening All and I'm happy you've stopped by my blog  as I've a super silly card to share!
It's to enter at the MUSE card club and as it's an 'Anything Goes' week I'm heading over to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge too.
I was inspired by the design and stunning colours of Shona's card but if I'm honest I've used one too many hearts in the last few weeks so decided to go for a change as I love these silly faces from The Alley Way Stamps and I don't use them enough!

Here's Shona's card:

I stamped the images in Versafine Onyx Black ink then heat set  with Ranger clear embossing powder. Using the back of a circle stamp I used Versa-magic chalk inks to create the face shape and these are also heat embossed; this time with Hero Arts Clear sparkle.
The sentiments are from Uniko Studio: All Occasion Sentiments and Clearly Besotted: In the frame. The panel is mounted on funky foam with a few Doodlebug sprinkles for added interest.
Ok that's all for today but I'll be back tomorrow morning with a little challenge reminder for Uniko Studio as there's still time to enter. It's a birthday theme so easy peasy.

Morning all and how quickly are we back around to Saturday! So it's that time again ... a new challenge at 
Less is More
It's a theme week too - Friends - so loads of options just remember to keep it clean and simple.
Now if you follow my blog regularly then you'll notice  that yesterday I posted details of the latest challenge at Uniko Studio here where the theme is very similar: Love & Friendship. So no pressure blog buddies but I'd be more than happy to see your  cards there too. We've some new rules this year too so you don't  even need to use Uniko products ... so what are you waiting for.
Anyway onto my cards for Less is More and apologies for my photos this week ... the light is pretty dismal in the UK right now but some very late night photography produced these!

First up featuring a brand new stamp set (to me) from Uniko Studio

 it's the All Occasion Sentiments #3 

inked in gold Delicata then heat embossed with clear EP.

SCARY LEGS

Hi there, I'm zipping by with a quick card for you to celebrate Halloween.

Here's one I've made for my eldest niece ... don't you just love those tights!

The colour scheme is from this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge so   

I'm heading over there plus I've water-coloured the image using my

Derwent Inktense Pencils with 'winks of stella' instead of water

so hoping that counts over at Addicted to Stamps this week too.

  

I've also used several snippety bits from my stash so I think

I'll pop in at Pixies Snippet Playground too for a little trick or treat!
